More New Informations on "Maps To The Stars"

eOne has closed multiple deals on David Cronenberg’s new thriller Maps to the Stars, starring Mia Wasikowska, Julianne Moore, Robert Pattinson and John Cusack.

Deals have closed with Benelux (Cineart), Poland (Monolith), Scandinavia (Mis Label), Iceland (Gmight), Switzerland (PatheAG), Portugal (Lusomundo), Turkey (Calinos), Israel (Shani), Greece (Hollywood) and Former Yugoslavia (Discovery).

Deals are set to close shortly for C.I.S., Middle East, Brazil, Mexico, Peru, Hong Kong and India.

Production is scheduled to kick off on July 8 in Toronto and Los Angeles on the ghost story that also doubles as a commentary on celebrity culture in Los Angeles. Bruce Wagner wrote the screenplay.

eOne will directly distribute the film in the US, Canada, the UK, Australia and New Zealand.

eOne and Prospero Pictures are co-financing and Katz produces with SBS Productions’ Saïd Ben Saïd.

3 New Actors Join The Cast Of "Maps To The Stars"

Mia Wasikowska, Olivia Williams Join David Cronenberg's 'Maps to the Stars'

Mia Wasikowska, Olivia Williams and Evan Bird have joined the cast of David Cronenberg’s thriller Maps to the Stars ahead of a July shoot in Toronto and Los Angeles.

Newcomer Bird will play a troubled, drug-addicted child star, while Williams will play his manipulative mother, and Wasikowska his disfigured, schizophrenic, fame-obsessed sister.

The trio join Julianne Moore, John Cusack, Robert Pattinson and Sarah Gadon who were earlier cast.

Longtime Cronenberg producer Martin Katz and his Prospero Pictures shingle are partnering with Entertainment One to finance the ghost story and critique of celebrity-obsessed Los Angeles.

The film is being produced by Katz and SBS Productions’ Saïd Ben Saïd.

Sentient Entertainment's Renee Tab, Cronenberg's manager, will executive produce.

Entertainment One’s Benedict Carver is also executive producing and will oversee the film for the producer, with Integral Films’ Alfred Hurmer co-producing.

When it came time for the red carpet at last night’s Met Gala, we had a list of people we couldn’t wait to see—and Kristen Stewart was definitely one of them. The 23-year-old starlet turned up in a glamorous red jumpsuit by Stella McCartney, and was instantly one of the night’s standout stars.

Naturally, we had to consult her longtime stylist, Tara Swennen—who also dressed Teresa Palmer in Diane von Furstenberg for the big night—to get the full scoop. Swennen and K-Stew have worked together since the actress was 14 years old, so it’s no surprise that she has some great insight into the A-lister’s much-discussed sense of style.

Continuing on, there is also an adaptation of William Styron's novel "Lie Down in Darkness" on Cooper's plate, a story that will carry a personal touch as it's set in his native Virginia. A Southern Gothic tale in the tradition of William Faulkner, the novel tells the story of the dysfunctional Loftis family, and particularly patriarch Milton and wife Helen on the day they set out to bury their daughter Peyton.

"I wrote the script just after 'Crazy Heart,' but with that one, it really comes down to cast," he says. "When you're casting a family, all the elements have to come together perfectly and delicately. I'm in the process of talking to a number of actors and actresses."

A premature report last August announced Kristen Stewart as attached in the role of Peyton, but Cooper says there was no truth to it. He'd like to first cast the role of Milton and move on from there.

The first day of shooting that I was involved with, Kristen Stewart said, “If you want to sit down with Kim Fowley then I can arrange it.” I said, “That would be great.” So Kristen and Joan Jett and myself and Kim Fowley met at a Denny’s in The Valley. We had dinner together. And Kim brought his albums…not his vinyl albums, but his photo albums and his newspaper clippings and all this stuff and he told, basically, his life story to me from the time he was a child to where he was at sitting across from me at that table. Yeah, it was incredible. It’s kind of a blur. I can’t say I remember a lot about it. He was talking very fast. I know he was sick as a child. But his parents were all right.

Following Kristen Stewart's interview with German magazine 032c about former Balenciaga designer Nicolas Ghesquière, many folks on the Internet concluded that she had severed ties with the house, which is now helmed by Alexander Wang. But an inside source confirmed to us that her contract with Balenciaga is actually alive and well. She has already shot several new fragrance campaigns, the first of which will come out this fall.

Stewart also has yet to wear any of Wang's Balenciaga designs in public, and she didn't attend his debut show in Paris in March. Perhaps this will change — maybe she and Wang could even be friends! Or maybe she'll just fulfill her fragrance "ambassador" duties and bow out when her contract is up.
